We welcome Alex to HT
We welcome Alex Mutyaba and his family to Holy Trinity. Alex will be joining us as an Ordinand on placement as he trains to be a Vicar. Alex will be on our leadership team and he will be participating in the life of HT including leading and preaching at services. He is looking forward to getting to know you all.
A little about Alex....
I grew up in Uganda, the pearl of Africa. I emigrated to the UK in 2002 to further my accountancy education and became a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2004. I have worked as an accountant for over 20 years and I enjoy balancing figures.
I am married to my wife, Deborah a social worker currently training as a Nurse. We have 3 wonderful daughters Priscilla, Paula and Philippa who have become pivotal in our lives. Priscilla is starting University this September; Paula is commencing Secondary School, while Philippa is continuing to hold the flag of our family in St James Hatcham School.
I was privileged with Deborah to attend Great Grace World Outreach Bible college from 1998 to 2002 in Uganda which made a major impact on my Christian journey and rekindled my faith. I developed the passion of the Grace of God. This unmerited favour of God has been the backbone of my faith and I feel honoured not only to be a student of the Grace of God but to be a vessel of the Grace of God to others.
On maintaining my walk with God in the UK, I joined St Mary Magdalene Church Peckham. I was welcomed and developed a sense of belonging, serving on the PCC as Treasurer for the last 12 years. I trained and was licensed as a Lay Reader in 2012, and I have enjoyed listening to the word of God, leading and preaching in St Mary Magdalene Church Peckham. My family has been part of the St Mary Magdalene Church family and we have enjoyed Half-Night prayer sessions and the girls have always looked forward to attending young people services.
As we look forward to Holy Trinity Sydenham, I have enjoyed watching reflections on the websites. We will always remember the warm welcome we received when we visited on 23 August 2020. Although it was a surprise visit, we could feel the vibes of your welcome in a distance and we cannot wait to join you. We feel honoured to be part of the Holy Trinity family not only to be mentored in our calling in ministry but to be a partaker of the expectation of God’s plan each day.
