Vision

We are a church passionate about knowing and sharing the love of Jesus and pursuing God’s Kingdom in our city and locality. We’re here to see the church alive and lives, families and communities transformed.

Our Values

Scripture and Spirit

We are committed to making space for both the Bible and Holy Spirit to change and empower us.

We are a Charismatic-Evangelical Anglican Church.

Make Jesus Known

We want to help others encounter Jesus and His love.

Determined Disciples

We are intentional about being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, doing what Jesus did and helping others do the same.

Feels Like Family

Holy Trinity is a church where everyone can belong, be loved, have fun and make friends in authentic community.

Extravagantly Generous

We want to reflect the extravagant generosity of Jesus in all that we do.

Story

The original Holy Trinity church building was built in Sydenham Park where Trinity Court now stands. It was a large and beautiful building: holding 1,200 and modelled on Bath Abbey. However, during the long hot summers of the mid-70s cracks appeared rendering it unsafe and eventually it was demolished. One Sunday in the early 80s, halfway through the service, the congregation processed out into our current place of worship - the hall. Knowing that the church is the people not the building, worship and service has flown out from Holy Trinity for many years regardless of where the church has met.

One of the historic mottos of the church is ‘bold for God’ and as the church has moved in faith God has done some amazing things through its history: from building a primary school, to raising up and sending church leaders across the country, to releasing people for mission overseas.

In January 2022 Ben and Lydia Strain moved from Ealing, West London to Sydenham and Forest Hill with their two daughters to lead Holy Trinity into the next chapter of its story. As we partner with friends and move forward in the knowledge we have a God who can do ‘immeasurably more than we ask or imagine’ we are so excited for what the future holds for HT and SE London.
